so we bears need to take a break in the summer cuz it's way too hot. but since summer is halfway thro we figured we could come outa the a/c for a bit and grace the internet world with our presence again ;-)
except, we seem to have an identity crisis. edithbear may have taken a liking to iceberg lettuce! i know polar bears like icebergs but... iceberg lettuce?! so i suggested changing her name to "edithbunny." except she says it sounds too much like one of her friends, so after a few seconds i had a brainwave. why not call her "edithhare"!!! :-) it rhymes with edithbear AND it's hilarious! however, she did not take to the idea at all. i tried to explain to her that she was edithbear cuz her Duke friends got her a polar bear, but she retorted that the store they got it from was "build-a-bear" not "build-a-hare". i sent her a link from the store showing that they made bunnies too but.. to no avail. she also did not like that "hare" was too much like "hair"... methinks the bear is sensitive about her fur/hair...
which brings us to the topic of practice heads (yes, my transition is astounding, no?). so the firm i work for is broken down into pratices, hence, the leader of each practice is called a "practice head". edithbear found that to be hilarious and commented that she had not such a practice head, but she only have a "real head". and the number of jokes that have come from that... sigh. one such joke relates to hair. i had an interview at the apt for something and she said she'd go home later after my interview to "stay out of my hair." to which she snidely added that she should do that since she was always crawling in and out of my hair... :-) i told her that it was ok, cuz i was using my practice head that day so she can hang out in the hair on my real head... haha!
i like having a practice head, it gives my real head a break sometimes so it doesn't wear out from overuse. i feel sorry for those who do not have practice heads, their real heads must suffer fatigue quite frequently. you should all heed this warning and get a practice head...
preview of something to come...
edithbear had a funny chat with her friend the other day... he asked her how her "nonprophet" was doing. i do believe edithbear broke out into uproarous laughter. she is currently working on her "nonprophet" pilot program and she suggested that he "pilot" it for her, him being the the air force and all. she also said that since she was a "nonprophet" she was in the perfect position to run a "nonprophet" organization. but she is too busy piloting to post for now, she shall make her return in a week or two.
hair/hare ... profit/prophet
